FINALLY. It’s starting to feel like fall around Los Angeles and we couldn’t be happier! The incessant heat and lack of rain has really worn us down and we are ready for change. Connie and I are both from back east and it’s funny to think about growing up and how much the seasons made the years more memorable. Honestly, now that we’re 10 years into our time in sunny paradise, we sometimes feel like we’re in a time warp! What year did we do that? Was it that same sunny day we had yesterday? Was yesterday last week? On top of that, we are absolutely 100% major weather weenies. Give us our parkas in 70 degree weather lol! Don’t get us wrong, we are NOT complaining, but understand that we will be the very first to do a happy dance on random rainy days or when we get to pull out our heavy coats. So in honor of the current dip in temps, we’ve excitedly brought out our boots, jackets, and cozy sweaters for the chilly weather and we want to share what we’ve found for our next cuddle session!
The exciting thing about styling is that with the right combination of items it can really make a look go a long way. By combining versatile pieces that are more expensive with affordable pieces that you can change to your heart’s content, it makes for a variety of OOTD’s for each changing season. For this OOTD, we chose this Cowl-neck sweater , Wool-blend fur pom hat, and we cut the feet off of a pair of Wool-blend knee high socks for a fast DIY leg warmers. All of these items were priced under $30 from H&M!! Then we chose more pricey pieces like this Suede Effect Jacket from Zara and this Magda shoe from Banana Republic to finish the look. What’s amazing about the jacket and shoes is that it can be used in all seasons so you don’t have to feel bad about the splurge and it’s easy to dress up and down. Also, right now there are so many amazing sales in anticipation of Black Friday that this is the perfect time to invest.
So join us in doing our happy dance and go shop for your next cuddly OOTD. Share with us on our instagram @soma_and_ulte and use #somaandultelovefall so we can find it!
