Walking In A Winter Wonderland

December 14, 2016

Connie and I love our Christmas tunes and when we were brainstorming our color stories for our posts we decided that December had to be named after some of our favorite holiday songs.  And since the color of the week is white, we were inspired by Felix Bernard’s “Winter Wonderland.”  (Random fact- did you know that this song was composed all the way back in 1934 and the lyrics we know so well were written by a jolly guy named Richard B. Smith?  Google is always giving gifts of knowledge.  GOOGLE IS  MY SANTA!!).  Of course, it is absolutely hilarious to think about “walking in a winter wonderland” here in sunny Los Angeles, especially since my home towns is equipped with 4 seasons and actual snow.  So in the spirit of nostalgia, we decided that if we can’t have snow, we can at least have a white Christmas with today’s OOTD!

It all started with this adorable MISTLETOE KISSES JUMPER  from TopShop.  It is super comfortable and it is the perfect amount of playful.  The sequin lips inspired me to go with a matching lip color, which will pop against all the white.  It’s also a great option to wear for your holiday party.  Wear it with jeans, a skirt, leggings… you really can’t go wrong.  Also, it’s a great conversation starter

Finding the right white pants was actually not as easy as I thought it would be… let’s be honest, it is so difficult to keep clean for the klutzes like myself and sometimes if the fit is wrong it is waaaaay more likely to be seen than if they were a pair of black pants.  However, I found this magical pair from J.CREW called the MADDIE BI-STRETCH COTTON PANTS  and they’re currently on sale online for 30% off if you use the code HOLIDAY.  They are extremely comfortable, the material is quality grade and I know because it’s not completely see through and the bi-stretch aspect allows it to hug your curves in all the right ways.  It runs a little big so you should try to size down when purchasing.  This pant is great for those with a bit of a booty because they are highwaisted and accentuates your waistline.  How great is that??

And for those who want that extra layer of warmth, I found this amazing DOUBLE-FACE CAR COAT from Gap.  This jacket is a intentionally a bit oversized to accommodate your layers, but it also is light enough to be worn again for spring.  This is a wonderful piece to invest in and it is also on sale right now for 40% off if you use the code GIFTS.  I picked ivory, of course, to go with my all white OOTD, but it comes in 4 other colors.  The arms are a bit on the longer side so I chose to go with a petite.

Last, but certainly not least I fell in love with these Jeffrey Campbell heels.  Can’t seem to find them online right now, but I purchased them at my local Nordstrom.  If anyone can find these bad boys please let us know!!  They’re great for those who are a bit more adventurous and can be worn throughout the seasons… more bang for our buck and WE LOVE THAT. So regardless of whether you’re walking through an actual winter wonderland or just creating your own, we are all about bringing the season to you and showing you that you can always make a statement even with a monochromatic palette.  Enjoy your day… only 12 more days til Christmas!!!!

XOXO,
