Have Yourself An Edgy Little Christmas

December 22, 2016

Today’s OOTD marks our last fashion blog post for the year!!  What?

We truly can’t believe we’ve been up and running since the end of September because it feels like we’ve been doing this all of our lives.  I suppose when it doesn’t feel like work it just means we’re going in the right direction.  What we’ve come to realize after starting this endeavor is that we were initially a little scared about pushing the envelope when it comes to fashion.  However, it’s the end of the year and we’re gonna leave it with a bang!

All of our lives Connie and I have always embraced all kinds of styles: rocker, preppy, tomboy… whatever it is we have probably done it and we want to bring more variety to you guys.  For now, we wanted to give you a little playful yet edgy OOTD.  The best part of costume designing and styling is that you can truly get away with anything you’d like.  It’s just all about the confidence and perhaps a little bit of getting into character.

What made me fall in love with this LONGLINE BOMBER JACKET  were the thumb holders… sometimes it’s just the little surprises that makes you appreciate an article of clothing (like pockets in fancy dresses!).  I’ve also been excited about the bomber jacket craze this whole season, but this was a fresh take on it.  Its length covers a lot of ground and is perfect for dropping temperatures.  This look, of course, is more for aesthetics than practicality.  It’s also for the gal who wants a twist on the usual preppy look for the winter.  My hometown is very preppy, my current town is more relaxed, and sometimes I just wanna bring out the inner New Yorker in me.

What’s amazing about this OOTD is that it has all of the proper elements for a dressy look.  If you’re feeling like this is just way out of your element you can easily remove the hat and the jacket and it becomes a simple sexy option.  Under my jacket I’m wearing an OFF THE SHOULDER KNITTED CROP TOP from Express, which is on mega sale right now for only $19.95 !!!  My thigh high boots are the NORRI STEVE MADDEN BOOTS.

My pop of color, which of course is in buffalo plaid, is H&M’s A LINE SKIRT  …It is only $24.99!

There will be more to look forward to in the new year and we’re so excited to get working on it!  Thank you guys so much for your positive feedback and let us know if there’s any style or theme  you’d want to see in the future.  2017 is literally around the corner and what better time to think outside the box than now!  Don’t say “I could never pull that off!  Let me wait til I’m xyz pounds.  I just don’t have time!”  Go and try something new.  Just remember to not take yourself so seriously…  fashion is supposed to be FUN.

Happy Holidays, everyone!!!
