Happy Monday, PEEPS!!
This past week was super exciting for Connie and I because we actually got to work together at our (real) jobs for the first time in years! You may have caught our instastories… we were totally relishing every single day we were getting paid to be together haha Perhaps that is a testament to how much we are attached at the hip since we already spend 99% of our free time together as it is for Soma & Ulte! It has been quite amazing to see how this tiny hobby has turned into our second career/second life. It is an ever-evolving adventure and sometimes we wonder what we even did with ourselves before this. If you’re thinking about starting a blog just know it takes A LOT of time, devotion, blood, sweat, and happy tears….but if you’re as passionate about your topic of choice as we are you will cherish each and every single second!!
With all of the work days bleeding together it was actually wonderful to take a breather to bask in the warmth of the sun and, naturally, it inspired us! So for this week’s OOTD we decided to celebrate the color yellow. There’s nothing like the idea of falling asleep on a sunny day and really taking the time to just be a little mellow. Life in the city can be so fast-paced and if you’re stuck in an office or indoors somewhere, just know you can always bring the sunshine with you!
It was absolutely exciting when I saw this beautiful top at Zara because it was the perfect representation of the theme! On top of that, this beautiful canary yellow really stood out and I couldn’t help but immediately gravitate towards it.
One of my favorite things about it is the asymmetrical cut of the drape. It is such an interesting take on the average top and I love both its beauty and practicality. It’s conservative and dressy enough to wear to the office with some black pants, but it can also be casual enough to wear with jeans. Either way, you’ll definitely turn some heads since it’s so unique!
For this particular OOTD I decided to go a little funky with it (shocking, I know LOL) and I grabbed some accessories to match that attitude. This adorable purse is also from Zara and it can be used as either a clutch or a crossbody. Honestly, how can you not be transported to a happy place when you see this little birdie design??
Since the neckline is so high it’s best to wear some statement earrings instead of a necklace. Found these pretty lemon tree earrings from J. Crew!
Then to round out the whole look, these Schutz heels were just the right amount of spring day and summer night. However, it is a HUGE SPLURGE for us and it’s pretty tall so I wouldn’t recommend it for those who aren’t used to higher heels. Despite the two cons, I gotta say I absolutely love everything about them and it would be worth a #treatyoself kind of day
