OOTD: Copper Tones for Thanksgiving

November 20, 2017

Happy Thanksgiving week, everyone!  Who else is counting down the work days until we gorge ourselves in gravy (and gratitude)??  As much as we are trying to put on our best fall time frocks, this LA weather is completely cramping our style.  In fact, it's going to be a high of 91 degrees on Thanksgiving!  What the what!?  So for this post, I'm sharing what I'll be wearing to accommodate the weather and celebrate all of the copper tones that are super popular right now for fall time fashion.

When Connie and I discuss our colors of the week it is sometimes hard to find things to accommodate both my fashion section and her home section, but this week we really lucked out on both!  This gorgeous copper robe is so shimmery it was screaming to me while I was at Anthropologie.  It is just as shiny in person as it is in the photos... so if you're looking to find something sparkly to wear for the holidays this could be your perfect match!

There are two ways of wearing this look and I think it works either way.  I love it with a black felt hat and sunnies.  I think it really completes the look if you're outdoors.

However if you take off those accessories, it still works as a complete outfit!  So you can actually take them off when you reach your thanksgiving destination and still look smashing.  It's just enough pop of color to take your plain tank top and jeans into something much more festive.

I also wore this necklace from Free People as a an added detail.  My neck felt a bit bare without it and this is the best statement necklace without being too loud.  It comes in a rose gold chain and crystals gems.  What's great is that if you decide to take your robe off you'll still have some subtle sparkle left!

And although this tank top is a bit on the pricey side, I really love it because it has some purchase-worthy elements.  It is made of velvet, which (as I've said in previous posts) is a luxurious fall/winter fabric that is very popular this season, it has scalloped edges, which offers a romantic neckline, and it has a peek-a-boo detail down the front with the diamond shaped cutaways.  It's the perfect marriage of sexy and classy, which you guys know I'm always a huge fan of that!
