A Classy Way to Wear Winter White

December 11, 2017

Oh hellooOOOoooo, everyone!  I am singing and dancing because we are exactly TWO WEEKS away from Christmas!!!!    And I'm exactly one week away from leaving to go home for the holidays, which (if you can't tell from the photo) definitely makes this the most wonderful time of the year for me:).  Don't get me wrong, I love Los Angeles, but since Connie and I are both transplants, we usually cannot wait to leave to go see our families.

Although you can't tell that it's December by the temps here, it's absolutely obvious by the holiday decor all around the city.  We live so close to gorgeously decorated Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and it's one of the most iconic places in LA.  It's also home to some of the most expensive stores in the world, which is the total opposite of our mantra at Soma & Ulte!  So this week the location inspired us to show you a classy upscale #OOTD for a 1/4 of the price.  This week we present to you... a classy way to wear winter white!

One of the easiest ways to look put together is to go with neutral colors.  I ended up choosing an oversized ribbed sweater with a tight fitting sweater skirt of the same material.  Although they were not on the rack together at Zara, they go perfectly together!  This is something you'll notice with a lot of fashion brands, they'll reuse the same fabric for multiple items because the line will be more cohesive as well as cost effective.  So next time you're shopping keep an eye out!

What's particularly amazing about this combo, is that it looks luxurious and it's also as soft as butter!!!!  The fact that it's a tight fitting skirt doesn't even bother me since it's super stretchy and extremely comfy.  It's also made from a ribbed knit that is very warm.  If you're in a place that has snow, you could easily wear it with tights and a thermal undershirt.  You don't have to do the off shoulder look... it can remain a cozy crew neck.

The back of the top even has a keyhole and an adorable black bow!

And if it gets even chillier, you can throw on this soft-feel jacket!  It's double breasted and has structure, but without the firmness of a regular coat.  I prefer this when it's not freezing outside but is chilly enough to need that extra layer.

Also, the above picture gives you an even better look at this asymmetrical skirt that matches the sweater.  It's got a built in band that serves as a great waist-cinch and that overlapping detail makes the skirt that much more special.  It's also the perfect length for my new favorite accessory....these light gray over the knee boots!

What's even more exciting for us than holiday prepping is that the next two weeks we are partnering with ShoeDazzle to show you guys our favorite shoes from their new Boot Season collection!  You guys know how much I love a good OTK boot so I couldn't pass up these gorgeous ones in Solara Grey.  They're super easy to slip on because of the zip up the inner calf.

And they easily stay up on my legs because of the tie back detail.... and you know everyone has such different thigh to calf ratios!

I also really love these boots because I can untie the laces and get a slouchier look.

Most of all, I just love how sexy they look and how sexy they make me feel.

Thanks, ShoeDazzle for these gorgeous boots!!!!
