Tis the season for pies, cakes, and desserts a plenty! And it's more than likely you'll find yourself making yummy goodies for parties or as a gift pretty soon, and we're here to help!! I know there are some of you who either don't like baking or simply don't have the time and the best part about this diy is that it is ideal for the semi-homemade babe or dude! And let's be honest, the presentation counts just as much as the treats themselves.
For the drinks and mini cakes I used these stencils I downloaded from online. I went to Michael's and bought plain stencil paper, put these stencils underneath and cut them out with an X-Acto knife. For the big snowflake on the big cake I cut it out of paper the old elementary school way!
Once you've cut out your stencil, place it on the cake and then sprinkle the powdered sugar on top.
Then remove your stencil et voila!
Or put your stencil over your coffee cup and sprinkle with cocoa powder or cinnamon. Notice on the stencils I cut out little tabs on the side to be able to grab hold of the stencil.
The best part about this is that you can use the stencil on store bought cakes or cakes made from cake mix and it looks just as impressive as if you'd slaved all day baking cakes from scratch. And if you want to make the little cakes but don't have a mini cake pan simply use an empty soup can or cookie cutter and cut the shape out of a larger cake!
We hope this helps y'all in the coming weeks be the star of the baking party! And happy 10 days til Christmas!
