DIY: Minimalist Coasters

March 9, 2018

Happy Friday y'all!! We're just 12 days away from Spring (FINALLY!!)  and I'm already getting a head start with my spring cleaning. But if you're anything like me while you're doing said cleaning, you come across different supplies and decide to work on a new project right then and there! That's where the super easy and super chic coasters come in! They cost next to nothing to make, they're so easy you could literally have your kids help you, and I love their look!!

For this project you'll need ceramic tiles, black acrylic paint, painters tape, and a paint brush

Start by taping off your design. We went with a simple diagonal line across the middle to make a triangle. I also taped the edged to keep the border of the tile white

 Then paint your tile!

Let those dry completely then peel your tape off. Once your tiles are dry place them on a baking sheet, put them in the oven and set oven to 350 degrees (this is the temperature the kind of paint I used called for but follow the instructions on the back of whatever kind of paint you use). Let the oven rise to required temp then turn the oven off and let the tiles cool off in the oven. It's important to put the tiles in the oven before it heats up and to let them cool completely before removing.

Et voila! Once your tiles are cool to the touch place self-stick round felt pads to the bottom of the tiles to protect the table and tiles.

Now show your coaster proudly!!

My favorite part about this simple design is the way you can arrange all the tiles to make different shapes! And you could also set these out and use them as a trivet while you're entertaining!

We hope y'all have an amazing Friday and don't forget to spring forward on Sunday!!!
