Beet Dyed Linen Napkins

February 8, 2019

We're just one week away from Valentines/Galentines Day y'all! Can you believe it?! What I love about todays project is that it's obviously perfect for Valentines day because the muted pink color linen feels so romantic but it's truly perfect for any time of year and would make any table setting look great! And as always, it's super easy to make! All you need is 1 1/2 yards of 100% linen fabric (I picked ours up at Jo-Anns), beets, scissors, measuring tape, and a big pot.

Start by measuring out 8 napkins that are 18" x 18" (you can of course make any size you like but I measured other napkins I own and they were all about 18" x 18")

Once you've cut your fabric soak them in hot water while you prep the beets.

Then peel and roughly chop up 2-3 cups of beets. Place them in a large pot and cover with 8 cups of water. Bring water to a boil and remove from the heat.

Then working with one to two napkins at a time swirl fabric around in with the beets. Let them soak for around 2 minutes. Ring out each napkin over the sink, and place them on a drying rack. Once all napkins are done let your napkins dry overnight and that's it!

You can of course add a hem around the edges of your napkin but I love the look of the raw edges with the linen

Now, because it is Valentine's day use those napkins for the perfect morning coffee in bed for your sweetie. And as a bonus include some cute romantic love tokens

Happy weekend and Valentine's day crafting!!
