It's that time where it's still winter but all I can do is dream about spring time! Since I can't go outside and lie by my pool just yet I'm getting my spring fix in the kitchen with all the yummy citrus that is so good this time of year, especially the blood oranges! For this smoothie bowl recipe you'll need...
1 cup frozen banana (1 big or 2 small bananas)
1 cup almond milk
2 blood oranges
1/2 cup greek yogurt or almond milk yogurt
1 tbsp shredded coconut
1 tbsp hemp seeds
1 tbsp almond butter
1 tsp maple syrup (can substitute honey or agave if preferred)
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend together. For toppings you can do any little thing your heart desires, we used coconut flakes, sliced banana, sliced blood oranges, almond slivers, and flax seeds.
But here's the real genius part, I used the peel of the citrus itself as our bowls! Not only does this give you an extra dose of color and that spring time feel but it means no dishes afterwards! Hallelujah!
I mean it truly doesn't get any easier than this! And it's yummy to boot! I hope this gives y'all a fresh bit of spring in your morning routine!
